Hamid Tavassoly

Hamid is an experienced coach who also has over 20 years of experience as a Chartered civil engineer, programme manager, consultant, director and civil servant. This broad experience of public and private sectors, including running his own consultancy, has involved working with senior leaders up to and including Ministerial level providing a strong appreciation of the leadership challenges individuals face in complex fast-moving environments.

Hamid’s coaching supports clients to increase their awareness of their values and purpose and link these to their objectives and performance. He partners with the client to clarify their goals and ambitions and identify practical steps for achieving them. Through challenging their self-imposed limiting beliefs and assumptions, he supports clients to identify their strengths, values, ingrained behaviour patterns and potential. Clients have found that once they are aware of these and have clarified their goals and potential, their confidence grows in working towards and reaching their aspirations. Hamid supports clients to build on their strengths and works well for those who are open to fostering their self-awareness and motivated to develop.

He coaches across the public and private sector from first line managers, to Senior Civil Servants, Directors and company owners. Recent client outcomes have included: promotion; increased self confidence and presence, choosing a new career direction; increased flexibility and resilience in dealing with personal and professional conflict; overcoming procrastination; discovering their creativity and zest.

Hamid is an Executive Coach at Civil Service Learning and has coached clients from over a dozen government Departments. Other clients have included: Standard Bank, Citibank, Save the Children, De Beers, NHS, European Banking Authority, London South Bank University and company owners.

He is a NLP Master Practitioner; he has completed an MA in Professional Coaching from Middlesex University through the i-coach academy accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) at Master Practitioner Level; he also holds an MBA from Imperial College. He has completed a range of continued professional development including: Somatic Coaching; Gestalt Coaching, Existential Coaching, Immunity to Change, Transactional Analysis Coaching; Systems & Psychodynamic Coaching, Gestalt in Organisation Development, Organisation Design & Development Practitioner, and is BPS Qualified in Psychometric testing (A&B) including MBTI,16PF, Hogan, TMSDI, NEO & Primary Colours, Talent-Q, Saville Wave, Lumina, and FIRO-B. Hamid is a member of the EMCC and abides by their code of ethics. Hamid has regular supervision for his practice.
