Fran Middleton

Fran is an executive leadership coach and team facilitator with over 25 years’ experience. She has an extensive knowledge of financial services as well as technology and voluntary sectors. She combines a practical understanding of business as leader of a multi-location People Team at JPMorgan with a rigorous training in psychotherapy.

Fran’s approach is to build trust and respect. She helps leaders to identify and break through emotional and practical issues that are at the heart of their leadership challenges. Clients recognise and trust Fran’s ability to building a calm open environment of ‘creative discomfort’. Constructive dialogue enables individuals to clarify their own self–limiting assumptions and re-discover personal strengths, increase their personal effectiveness and performance to sustain long term change and drive business success

Having lived in London and Qatar, she works with a broad range of clients from those involved in start ups and SMEs to chief executives and board members to those newly promoted and staff from talent pools. Her clients have included; Altium Capital, Asthma UK, BNP Paribas, Bank of America, Excelian, JPMorgan, HSBC, Metia Ltd, Old Mutual, Virtual Clarity, RWE npower. Within these organisations, Fran has supported a leader to clarify their business vision and inspire a virtual (multi-location) team to deliver increased revenue targets in a complex, competitive market. Enabled the smooth execution of a buy-out plan and transition to PE firm with a structured programme to increase self-awareness of their impact on Team and Board. Using bespoke feedback, has broadened influencing skills to strengthen stakeholder relationships, to successfully take on new responsibilities across the region ready for MD promotion. She has also used in-depth analysis of conflicting professional and personal priorities to assist in developing a career plan that led to transition into a new role fulfilling personal aspirations.

Fran has a BA Hons in Textile Management from University of Leeds, a MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling from City University and a Post MA, Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy from Regents College. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a British Psychological Society Affiliate, Member of the Special Group of Coaching Psychology and UK Council for Psychotherapy (a member since 2006 and accredited supervisor since 2016). Fran is also a Designer/Lecturer on ‘Coaching for Leaders’ Programme at Regents College

She is a Trustee for Prospex, an inner London charity that provides young people with life and employment skills and a volunteer for the Sunday International Group – St Martins in the Fields that supports homeless refugees and asylum seekers.
