Deborah Brown

Deborah has significant experience as a coach, senior business leader and consultant working with global organisations both internally and externally in diverse business sectors. She works with leadership teams, top talent and emerging talent to maximise their potential and enhance business outcomes. Her experience centres on 1 to 1 coaching, building high performing teams, leading change through coaching and leadership development. She has a particular interest in exploring with leaders the choices and challenges they face in today’s complex, high pace organisations.

Deborah coaches in many different situations and at all levels including Senior Executives and top talent in business, public sector and the arts sector. She particularly focuses on working with diverse leaders in multi cultural environments. She works with leaders to build their personal effectiveness, manage expectations, successfully navigate the politics, build influencing and engagement strategies for stakeholders and strengthen their influence, emotional intelligence and presence. Much of her work has been acting as a thought partner and supporting leaders through significant change, challenging relationships (particularly stakeholders), resilience, engaging and inspiring others. Deborah has significant experience in team coaching, shadowing and performance coaching in the workplace. She has worked with several organisations to set up internal and external coaching capability and culture.

Her coaching approach starts with being clear on what the leader wants to achieve and on supporting and challenging them to be highly effective and reach their full potential. Her style is flexible according to what is happening in the present moment whilst also focussing on practical, sustainable actions and outcomes. Deborah enables individuals to tap into their own resources to stretch and develop in their leadership and deliver high performance in their business goals. She explores with individuals their assumptions, beliefs and values which influence their choices, decision making and behaviours to build self-awareness and leadership capability. She is interested in what enables and gets in the way of having difficult conversations. Deborah draws on her extensive business and personal experience in her coaching.

She has worked as a global leader at JP MorganChase, London Stock Exchange, Axa Investment Managers, BP International and Glaxo SmithKline. She has worked with the Executive Teams and Boards of these organisations and understands the challenges and politics at this level. Deborah has provided leadership development and coaching for senior leaders and teams in organisations such as Ernst and Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deutsche Bank, British Airways, Pfizer, National Grid, Sabic, Deutsche Bank, Civil Service, NHS and Education. Her sector experience spans energy/chemicals, healthcare, information technology, pharmaceuticals, financial services, public sector and the arts and third sector. Her cross-cultural experience covers Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, Russia, Africa, Middle East and the USA.

Deborah has an MSc in Organisational Consulting from Ashridge. She studied Masters in Team Coaching and Executive Coaching at Ashridge, Gestalt and Complexity at Metanoia and attended the Global Systemic Team Coaching Institute programme. She is qualified to deliver Myers Briggs, Hogan, Firo B, OPQ, and Motivation questionnaire and Tipping Point Transformation and Future Search change methodology. Deborah is an EMCC and Ashridge accredited coach as well as a coach supervisor who receives regular supervision on her practice.

She enjoys travel, photography, tennis and the arts.
