Design the life you want

Are you living the life you want?

So often, we let events and external factors determine the lives we lead. Whether in our careers or our personal lives, we forget that we have the ability to design the life we want.

There is no magic to it and it’s never too late to get started. You can successfully design the life you want by understanding the transformation process and developing those skills that will take you to where you want to be.

Design The Life You Want

About this event

In this 90-minute webinar, Dr Caroline Horner will introduce you to the skills and ideas you need to map out a more meaningful future.

The webinar is a friendly and welcoming space to introduce the key topics around the themes of change and transition. You will also meet and share with a small group of others going through similar experiences.

You will understand the difference between change and transition and the stages of significant life transitions. You will leave with a clear sense of which phase you are in and the mindsets, skills and activities that will help you design the life you want.

This event will give you a sense of the facilitation style of the iOpening programme, a transformative personal development programme from i-coach.

Beverley's experience

“I left the session feeling that I wasn’t alone. I realised I was exactly where I needed to be. My confidence was restored.”

Sarah's experience

“Before the session, I felt inert and couldn’t see the path ahead. Afterwards, I felt lifted and the way ahead was clear.”

“I had created a successful career for myself as a change leader in the public sector over many years. A few months before lockdown, I resigned. I wanted to take another path as a coach and leadership developer. The theory and application of individual and organisational transition is something I know well, but dealing with my own transition was a different matter. I had no problem transitioning in a practical, professional sense but I hadn’t really thought about my ‘re-invention’. I was used to everyone knowing who I was, my achievements, my successes, my skills. Suddenly I was one person in a world of 7.5 billion people, unknown. What the event did give me, was a sense that I wasn’t alone. It was a reminder of the theories, yes, but it was an opportunity to hear from, and connect with others who are going through similar transitions. I listened to their fears, concerns and questions, this reinforced my confidence. I am exactly where I need to be. I recommend anyone thinking about or going through a personal transition to attend, it will help you to recognise what you are going through and why, it will give you the opportunity to connect with others in a similar position and will open up further opportunities for personal development through follow-up opportunities with i-coach.”

“Due to coronavirus, I was redeployed to a different part of government to manage the response. I adapted because I had to and I was certainly very grateful to still have a job. After a few months, I had adjusted to my new normal and what I (naively) thought was a temporary job, became rather more permanent. Again, while very grateful to still have an income, I realised that not having that choice to decide this major part of my life had affected me in many ways. It's always been very important for me to be the author of my own story. I knew that I wanted to take my next step and should start preparing for it but I felt inert and couldn’t see the path ahead. It was at that point that I attended the webinar. I’m so glad I did. Caroline clearly explained that what I was feeling was totally normal and that it is actually part of the transition cycle (which I’d never heard of). I felt reassured to know that I was already, in a strange sense, making progress. I left the session feeling lifted. I could see the path ahead. Of course we want a life we’ve designed, but few of us can do it without the tools and support. It blows my mind that there are experts who dedicate themselves to helping others do this.”
